The morning after

Clarice was a heavy sleeper, when she wasn't having nightmares. It came of never knowing when she'd get a good night's sleep again. Still, she was not a still sleeper. That meant she rolled and twisted some in the night; her frozen peas slipping down between herself and Bill some time around three in the morining.

And well, she shifted where her head was resting too. Next to his on the pillow, his shoulde,r his chest. It was probably past dawn when she settled with her head on his belly, still asleep.

See, now, she really, really liked this new 'allowed to touch' thing. She liked that Bill wanted to, and was willing to, touch her. It made her laugh a little as he played fingers on her belly; not ticklish but just that damn nice. "Mmm, yeah, guess so. Sure you can handle sharing your wonderful tub with me?"

Granted she didn't think the sharing bit was going to be a problem. Splashing maybe, but not the sharing! And it was her turn to lay hands on his hips and trace thumbs along those wonderful curves as she waited!

"Long as you don't hog as much space as y'did on the bed," he teased.

He liked having her hands on him just as much. Bending, he pressed a kiss to her cheek, then moved his lips lower to her neck and then her shoulder. Fingertips teasing along her waist, they moved slow and careful until he was able to start easing down her pants.

It didn't take too far past her waist for the clothing to slip free, and he let them fall to the floor.

"We both seemed to manage just fine!" she mock-huffed. "But if it's that big a problem I'll just have to avoid sleeping in your bed again..." Completely empty threat that. Yep. She'd be there as often as she was invited!

She couldn't help but twitch her hips to aid the fall of her pants, and she swayed forward to lean on him in order to kick them off each leg. There, all nice and ready for a bath...

...

...the problem now was actually getting there. "Hmmm, walk me backward?"

"That wasn't a complaint, it was just a... " It was hard to finish a sentence when she was such a distraction. He pulled back to take her in, eyes roving up then down. "Uh, observation."

Smiling, he rested his forehead against hers and complied with the request. Walking her backwards, he let his hands slide up and down her sides, mindful of the bruising, and around for a feel of her backside.

She actually posed a little for him, amused at the once over. Yes, she was rather pink everywhere. She was still damn attractive and she knew it! "Observation huh? Okay, maybe I won't get huffy about the bed thing then."

The back of her calves struck side of the tub and she laughed, sitting down on the edge. Yes, this made his hands slide up but that was alright it put her in range to press a kiss to his hip.

It was definitely her attractiveness more than the pink that was getting his appreciation.

When she sat down he smoothed his hands up, moving his palms over her skin to cup the sides of her breasts along the way to her shoulders as she sat.

The action ratcheted the temperature of his blood up another few degrees, and the kiss to his hip made his pulse quicken as well.

"That mean you'll be spendin' the night again sometime?"

Hey, pink could be parts of her attractiveness for some!

"As long as there's an invitation," she laughed and shivered cheerfully before licking a slow line along the spot she'd kissed. "Don't go where I'm not wanted." Though she was kind of sure of her invitation at this particular juncture.

"Gonna get in the tub or just sit and stare?"

It was! He totally liked the pink thing.

"Oh, I definitely want you." And those words made him blush some, but most of the heat in his features was from her actions.

With a quirked smile, he gave her shoulders a light squeeze.

"Alright, I'm goin'."

He moved around her to slip into the water. The heat made his skin prickle and tingle, and he let out a slow sigh as he settled, then held his hand out to her.

"Comin'?"

Imagine...he said that without alcohol in him! She rather liked hearing it! "Good, I'd be miffed if you didn't."

She waited until he was settled before sliding gently into the tub herself. The hand was appreciated, it helped ensure she didn't fall in so much as settle across hi lap, feet still hanging out of the tub but hey, her bruise ended up under water. "Mmmm, always have to love hot water." Modern plumbing was always welcome!

"And now we're naked, and wet, and at each other's mercy..." she teased happily.

Yes, sober confessions held so much more weight than drunken ones, and he totally meant what he said (and actually meant it when he was drunk, too, but now she could truly believe him).

The feel of her skin sliding against his was a rather nice one, and it pretty obvious how much he was liking this.

Letting her get settled, he rested his arms on the rim of the tub.

"Comfy?"

Smirking in reply to her teasing, he traced his fingers along one of her arms.

"Think I'm more at yours than you are mine." She was rather easily wrapping him around her little finger like this.

"Yes, very comfortable if you must know," she smirked and leaned her head on his shoulder, relaxing.

"You really want to be at my mercy? I was going for a balance of power thing but..." but since it apparently amused him, well, time to nibble his neck (it was there in easy reach after all).

"Good."

He rested his shoulders against the back of the tub, and let his chin tilt to give her more access. Yes, he was quite content like this.

"Mmmm... You make the whole mercy thing sound pretty good." And feel good, too.

"Well, I do try to be good at things I do..." she chuckled against the skin of his throat and took her sweet time nibbling and tasting from the point of his chin to the dip of his collarbone.

"Want to put a time limit on the 'at my mercy' bit or you good with my choice?"

His eyes slid closed, and he smiled.

"I'm good with leavin' it up to you."

In the meantime, his hand would keep up a lazy pattern of tracing up and down her arm, pausing to graze the inside of her wrist along the way, and maybe sneaking in to tease over her breast, too.

She could certainly deal with idle petting! Upon occasion she might even pause to turn into his fingers because, well, why not?

"Ooo, adventurous man," she murmured, nipping him gently. Enough to bruise, maybe, but not by much. She liked leaving a mark to be remembered by!

"Or maybe just lazy," he chuckled, then gave a soft hiss at the bite.

His grin widened, and he dropped one arm into the water to wrap around her waist.

"I ain't been led wrong yet followin' you, so I figure no reason not t'keep on."

"I can work with lazy...I feel a bit lazy myself." She chuckled, flicking her tongue just under his collarbone because that was...the extent of her reach without moving.

"I've been leading you places? News by me!"

He laughed at that.

"You kiddin'? You led me through a glowy portal, led me out to a creek, an' a bar fight. Plus, I'm pretty sure you were leadin' that night I stumbled home."

"No, you went through of your own volition! Honest!" Because she dared him more than anything else! "And the creek calls to people, vile temptress it is. And the bar fight was not my fault!" She was giggling, helplessly, against his chest though.

He laughed more, shaking his head and grinning at her.

"I didn't say you dragged me or anything, but I was followin' you the whole time." Therefore, she was leading.

"I dunno Bill, at least one instance led to a black eye for you. Can you call me a good influence if I am actually leading you?" She teased and nipped his shoulder. "You may have to get new friends for your own safety."

"This?" He gestured at his eye and made a 'pfft' sound. "Ain't nothin'. Last night was fun, an' as long as we ain't bar fightin' every Saturday night I think I'll be good."

"It ain't 'nothing'!" she sniffed and leaned her head on his shoulder. "They hurt you and I didn't stop it." Or kill them. Yeah.

His smile warmed, and he reached his hand from her arm to her face, trailing a fingertip around the point of her ear.

"But I'm alright. An' from what I remember, I was the one kinda pickin' that fight, anyhow."

"I shoulda got us out of there sooner," she grumped softly. "Really, names don't mean a thing to me Bill. They don't."
