The morning after

Clarice was a heavy sleeper, when she wasn't having nightmares. It came of never knowing when she'd get a good night's sleep again. Still, she was not a still sleeper. That meant she rolled and twisted some in the night; her frozen peas slipping down between herself and Bill some time around three in the morining.

And well, she shifted where her head was resting too. Next to his on the pillow, his shoulde,r his chest. It was probably past dawn when she settled with her head on his belly, still asleep.

"Hmmm, call me crazy too often and I'd have to do something drastic to you...."

His hand pauses, and he grins at her, clearly unthreatened.

"Oh? Like what?"

"I don't know yet. Something crazy as the situation demands?" He'd stopped the petting! Why would he do that?! Whiiiiine!

Hearing that, Bill laughed.

"Sounds like a pretty hollow threat t'me."

"Hmmmm?" She mused quietly. "Want to push it then?" See what happened?

"What, me?" He asked, full of innocence and mirth. "I'm not pushin' nothin', haven't even called you crazy again. Yet. That would be pushin' it."

"Yes, you. I'd leave you less broken if I was truly crazy." she grinned up at him cheekily and inch up her elbows until she could kiss him. "As a affectionate courtesy?"

He returned the kiss, and looked her over with a smirk.

"You are lyin' naked on my kitchen table." It didn't necessarily mean she was crazy, but he just wanted to point that out.

"I am only half-naked," she noted mock-primly. "And it'd be crazy if I wasn't considering I know you like seeing me. It'd be crazy not to want to make you happy."

"I guess that's true enough. An', I really do like seein' you."

She made pretty good arguments!

"So, I guess the verdict is, you ain't really all that crazy, an' maybe I am?"

"We can meet in the middle," she pointed. "Me coming from crazy enough to tell stories about in the funny papers and you descending from sane and normal?" And the middle of the table if he was so inclined!

She'd like that admittedly.

"Sounds good t'me." If they were going to be crazy may as well be logical about it, right?

Well, logically crazy could be interesting to explain to their friends and neighbors? Still. "Good. I like us getting along." She then inched a little closer across the table and gave him wide, sad eyes. "Pet me?"

The wide eyes made him chuckle, and he was all too happy to comply.

Leaning in for another kiss, he ran his palm along her cheek, then trailed his touch to circle her ear; playing fingertips along her neck.

That circling of her ear drew another sharp, happy gasp; verrrry sensitive there apparently, but the rest of the petting she just arched into a little like a content cat. Petttttings.

Dishes? What dishes? She'd worry about them alter yep.

With that kind of reaction he couldn't help repeat the action that drew it.

The dishes could sit around becoming science projects for all he cared, he was far more interested in kissing and petting her than worrying about cleaning up.

He did realize that the longer he played with her ear the more she was going to resemble and incredibly happy pile of goo right? He had her in the palm of his hand, she'd do anything he asked as long as he kept doing that!

A true hedonistic pleasure? Oh yeah. At least she made fun little noises for him at each stroke and play against her ear?

He was glad to see her happy, and was more than a little pleased with himself that he could do this to her. He almost expected her to purr at this rate.

While his hand kept playing with her ear, and dancing along the fine hairs at the back of her neck, his lips moved from hers to her cheek and chin. He kissed along her jaw line, and back to her other ear.

"You plannin' on stayin' up there on the table all day?"

It wasn't fair to be asked to think when he was doing that! It wasn't fair at all! She made a pathetic little noise up at him and tried to gather her thoughts. "Yes?" Was that the wrong answer? SHE'D STAY ON THE TABLE ALL DAY IF HE WANTED!

"No? Not fair Bill!"

Laughing, he nuzzled her ear with the bridge of his nose.

"What? I was just askin'. If your happy up there... "

It was so much fun to tease. Especially with her so gooey-ified by his actions.

"Mmm, yep," she noted, not really hearing a bit of what he said in favor of having her ear nuzzled. She did notice that he was close enough to touch though! She lifted one hand to trace idle circles with her nails along the back of his neck. Shared petting!

The skin at his nape prickled in a very good way.

"Hmm, s'good, that you're happy. But maybe, y'might be happy somewhere else besides the tabletop, too."

It was just a suggestion. One he followed by leaning back just a bit, and coaxed her with his hand threaded into her hair to follow.

"Oh?" she asked softly, a slow grin curling her lips as his suggestion pierced through the fog. And now he was tugging at her hair hmm?

With a low, soft chuckled she rolled up onto hands and knees and padded the rest of the way across the table to lean in for a kiss. "Suggestions?" she asked against his lips.

His hand trailed from the back of her head down her neck and in between her shoulder blades.

"Well, you could come down here with me, have a sit."

He smiled back, and kissed her.

"Oh, that's a nice invitation..." she drawled, arching her back under his hand because she could and smiling.

She'd take it under consideration.

Okay, thought about it! Time to slide into his lap in a motion more akin to oil sliding along water than anything human. What? She could move well when she was motivated!
