Owwwwwwww...
There was a flash of magenta light and the shadow of a woman flying through the air at a rather high speed. What world had it been? 739? Mutants Everywhere Planet, let's stop a serial killer because the Talus said so planet.
A super powered serial killer who had been rather hard to hit, much less hurt, especially with the team down several members. She'd been able to create an opening, at cost, for the others to take, but now, well, she was bleeding. And dizzy. And oh, that was a knife in her shoulder, huh, what if teh cops had needed that for evidence..
...right back on track. The talus had flashed, they'd been getting ready to leave and the partner, the killers partner that the Talus had told them NOTHING about had come careening in with a scream. Her lower arm ached, dully. and trailed more blood from where she'd lost the Talus. It had been ripped away and she'd been shoved through a half-formed portal. Not a fun ride.
By the time she tumbled to a halt she couldn't tell left from right, much less what world she was on. There could have been snipers in the trees and giant mutant snakes rearing to strike at her and she'd have just said 'Wha?'. She was...hitched up against a tree. Nice tree, yeah, she was going to...pass out now.
Yep.

Date: 2012-01-24 06:17 am (UTC)One of those long, hard days when Bill really felt the weight of the badge pinned to his breast.
Wheelsy might only be a small town, but small town troubles, and small town politics can wear on a guy, and right now, Bill just wanted to get home, have a couple of beers, and pass out.
He was running practically on autopilot as he navigated the quiet streets of his town, and nearly missed spotting the slumped figure against a tree as he rounded a small bend.
Hitting the breaks, Bill blinked, then pulled over.
The lights of his cruiser illuminated the stranger, and Bill stepped out of the car and approached.
"Hello? Hey, y'alright?"

Date: 2012-01-24 06:24 am (UTC)And strobing lights.
Army? Army wasn't good, and where she grew up, yeah, well only the army had alarm lights. Best to face the music then instead of exist in her pleasant, shocky fugue state.
She lifted a hand, or tried, realized it was her injured arm, and lifted her other one to shield her eyes. "Hunh?"

Date: 2012-01-24 06:33 am (UTC)She was pink. Like, all pink. He'd of course seen those crazy people on the TV who had tattoos from head to toe, but... she was pink.
Who the hell colors themselves all pink?
It was the red that snapped him out of his shock, and the blade sticking out of her at its source.
"Ma'am, I'm with Wheelsy sheriff's department. What happened?"
When she tried moving Bill crouched down and held out a hand to stop her.
"Careful now, s'gonna be alright. I just need you t'keep still, alright?"
no subject
Date: 2012-01-24 06:36 am (UTC)Oh. What had happened> Right. Plausible story, plausible story...mugging? She could have been mugged?
Sure. She'd go with that.
Naturally what fell out of her mouth was "Wrestled a serial killer then his partner got the drop on me and I lost my team. Sorry, bleeding on an important tree?"
Oops.

Date: 2012-01-24 06:47 am (UTC)Giving the benefit of the doubt, and knowing she obviously needed help, Bill reached for his radio.
"This is sheriff Pardy, I need an ambulance out on Willow Creek road... "
Giving their location and situation, Bill also requested another unit to come down, then put his radio away.
"Help's on the way, honey. Just lie here for a minute. C'n you tell me your name?"
no subject
Date: 2012-01-24 07:01 am (UTC)"Uh-huh, sure things Bill. Is it them Brook boys again? They still beating on each other?" He got back over the radio. "And your momma called..." Ah, yes, the day never ended did it? Thankfully he put the radio away!
Lying still seemed like a WONDERFUL idea. She knew she had a knife in her shoulder and her arm was messed up...had she been hit any other times? She didn't remember. "Blink." Ah, yes, code name! "...Clarice when I'm...off duty?" She tried for a chuckle.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-24 07:09 am (UTC)"Off duty? What is it that y'do?"
Gathering information was important, but so was just keeping her talking. Bill worked on both as he kept an eye out for the ambulance.
He didn't want to take a chance by pulling out the knife, so settled for pulling a bandana from his pocket and held it against the wound and knife to try and staunch some of the blood flow.

Date: 2012-01-24 07:15 am (UTC)"That really hurts. A lot." Just so he knew. As for his question, umm...what did she do? Somehow 'Teleporting interdimensional repair woman' just didn't flow off the tongue well.
"Not die?" That was something she did her best to do every day? "Fight bad guys, you know, stuff."
no subject
Date: 2012-01-24 07:34 am (UTC)Despite the situation and everything, he couldn't help a small chuckle at her answer.
"Not dyin' is somethin' I try an' do myself. Are you a cop from somewheres?"
He didn't know any pink cops, but then she could be from the city.
Or Clarksville, they were kind of crazy up that way, so who knew?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-24 07:49 am (UTC)Cop? Hmm..."Kinda. Sometimes." She admitted after a moment of scattered thought. "Rebel at home, then good guy when I fell outta that world, umm, we fix things where we go? It's gets weird, Talus reality thing. I teleport, just so you know."-

Date: 2012-01-24 05:01 pm (UTC)Keeping calm about things, but now really afraid she was going into some kind of shock, Bill took off the jacket he was wearing and slipped it over her.
"That probably makes gettin' around pretty easy, huh?"
Better to keep talking than argue, he figures.

Date: 2012-01-25 03:34 am (UTC)Yeeeeeaaaaah.
"N'have a spike..." yeah, that quiver on her back? Full of thin, sharp, metal spikes. He might want to take that before the hospital got their hands on it. And hey, he always wanted about fifty pounds of dangerous weapon right?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-25 09:34 pm (UTC)"Clarice? I need you t'keep talkin' to me, okay? How 'bout you tell me how you got way out here."
A siren began to wail in the distance, and Bill felt a small touch of relief knowing help was almost there.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 06:50 am (UTC)"You're nice."
Ambulance arrival. Yay. Did that mean pain killers?
"Um, Bill...she's pink." Just so the sheriff knew. "She got insurance?"
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 06:56 am (UTC)It's just that one of them wasn't Bill.
Patting her arm, Bill gave her a small smile.
"Thanks."
Standing up, Bill moved away from Clarice to give the two EMTs who'd arrived room.
"Really? I hadn't noticed," Bill drawled. "I got no idea what she has, just that her name's Clarice, an' she's bleedin' there pretty bad."
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:04 am (UTC)The other EMT passed saline bags as necessary and kept...ogling. "Bill? YOu ridin' with us? I mean...she ain't local you know." What if she was some weird drug lord...lady...thing?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:16 am (UTC)"Why, you scared of girl, Chris?" Bill asked, quirking a smile.
Another cruiser arrived, and Bill waved at the deputy who got out, while still talking to the EMT.
"I'll follow in the car. Gonna need t'talk with her anyways. Damn paperwork an' all."
He also wanted to figure out what exactly happened here, and who she really was.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:28 am (UTC)"Right, LIFT!" The other EMT called,Chris scrambling to get the other end of the straight board so they could get the now-unconscious woman to the bed in the truck.
"That's...weird, Bill. Maybe I should keep an eye on the road?" The deputy offered. Because...other pink people might come?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:36 am (UTC)Turning to the deputy, Bill nodded.
"I want you t'cruise the back roads an' look out for any other strangers wanderin' around. She was stabbed, so there's someone out there we need t'bring in."
Lifting his cap, Bill scratched his head, looking down the road.
"Not much traffic out this way right now, but if you see anyone about stop an' ask if they saw anything. Check the bulletins an' see if she's on any of 'em, too. I'm headed to the hospital, but wanna be kept updated."
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:43 am (UTC)"Well, any last words?" The EMT offered, leaning out to close the doors. They had the girl in, and hopefully stable (barring alien anatomy), so a last word or two wouldn't hurt. "Wanna hand cuff her to the stretcher or anything?" Just in case?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:52 am (UTC)She was also carrying around a bunch of sharp spikes. Thinking about that, Bill almost changed his mind.
"Look, I'm gonna be right behind you. There's any trouble, pull over an' I'll hop in."
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 07:55 am (UTC)"I'm movin' Ted." The other called from the front.
"Hell, tell me at the hospital." The small, county hospital given it was nearby and not exactly life threatening.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 08:02 am (UTC)Bill waved them off, then headed back to his cruiser and followed after them.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 08:08 am (UTC)"Reckon it's a drug thing? Think she cheated someone?"
"Nah, she's a little thing..."
"But she's got muscle on her, and you seen them spikes..."
"And you ALL need to clear out before I boot you myself, morons. She's bleeding and underfed and you're all jabbering!" Apparently doctor Mitchell was on staff tonight.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-26 08:31 am (UTC)The gruff voice made him jump, but Bill recovered quickly and nodded towards the door.
"You heard 'im, go on now."
