The DINNER ~ Wheelsy AU

She'd been working two days, a day to get a handle on the simple art of flower arranging (complicated stuff would come later) and to start learning delivery routes. It had been nice to be moving again, doing something, anything, constructive and today...

...today she actually teleported back to Bill's house with an armload of groceries and flailed. "I'M RUNNING LATE! DID THE ROAST IN THE CROCKPOT TURN OUT...wait. YOU"RE NOT HOME ARE YOU?!"

It probably wasn't time for him to be home. Meep. Talking to an empty house and running late on starting the meal still! Right! Dough! Dough first, for bread and a sweet dough for tarts. Those needed to rise, then she could start peeling potatoes...

Right. She could do this. She flipped on the radio, tossed her floral shop hat on the counter and stared COOKING. Dancing and cooking but hey who didn't need music to cook well? "Knife!" she called out, years of habit having the warning go out amidst the music so no one got hit by the knife headed toward the sink.

She tended to throw things when she was cooking. Yep.

"Logic? Never touched the stuff." Grinning over his shoulder at her, he set about making the popcorn.

"Obviously. That's alright, I have enough for both of us," she slipped her hands along his hips comfortably and kept leaning...

...because she could.

It didn't take long to get the popcorn finished and into a bowl, and he was happy to have her in his space the whole while he did it.

Bowl in hand, he wrapped his arm around her and nodded towards the living room.

"C'mon, I hear the couch callin' us both."

"Ah, the siren song of stuffing and fabric..." she trilled happily as she fell in at his side. Natural. Easy. Moving with him just...worked.

She liked that.

"So, on the list of thing you swore I had to see...where are me?"

Bill thought about it a moment, trying to decide if he was in an action movie mood or more for a comedy.

Going for light hearted and silly, he made his choice.

"Let's pop in Raising Arizona. It's pretty funny."

"Alright!' She snagged the bowl from his hands and flopped on the couch because obviously it was his job to set up the entertainment! Hah!

Bill chuckled and went to get the movie going.

Remote in hand, he returned to the couch, looking down at her expectantly. Yes, he was expecting her to budge over and make room for him.

What? Her? Move? SHE WAS LIKE A CAT AND NOW THE COUCH WAS HERS YES!

"Yessssss?" she drawled up at him cheerfully.

Bill arched a brow at her, smirking.

"We sharin' the couch, or am I gonna have t'sit on you?"

"You'd sit on me?" really? "You'd squish the popcorn!" But she could nudge up...a little.

Where that meant tucking herself more against the back of the couch!

"You'd make me stand through the movie?" He retorted, chuckling at her.

Fitting into the space she made, he looked over at her.

"Y'know, y'wouldn't squish me at all if you wanted to sit over here."

"Never," she snorted. "There's the floor, obviously." She draped an arm over his waist when he sat then nipped his side because she could.

"Hmmm, want me to ooze over into your lap? Is that it?"

"Well, I thought the idea had been for a movie an' snugglin'," he reminded her cheekily.

"Hmmm, true," she passed him the bowl of popcorn then then slipped up and over his hips to snuggle against his front. "Snuggle away babe."

Bill adjusted so they'd both be comfortable, and put his arms around her, resting the bowl in her lap.

"See, nice, right?"

She grinned and leaned back against his chest, utterly happy to be there really. "Yes, I have to admit this is a lot better than being squished in the couch cushions."

"Much better," he agreed, kissing her then pressing play on the movie.

[ooc: And is that maybe a wrap to you? Shall we start a new thread? Is it maybe time for superhero, world hopping shenanigans? Is it wise for me to be eating chocolate bars at 10:30 in the morning? Doesn't daylight savings make you crazy?

[Looks like a good fade point to me! Hmmm, I was thinking they end up world hopping after the slug rises once more? Especially if Bill was suppose to die this time around and ends up not? Makes him fall out of his world?]

[Yes, that's right. (SO MEAN, *CACKLES*) I was thinking it might be fun (and evil) to have the Slug Invasion II happen during the fall carnival thing that we mentioned before? Gives them time to settle into the relationship, think things are going swell, and then SLUGS!

Of course, there'd have to be reasons/ways for how it happens again.]

[BOOM SLUGS! Hmmm, he's been biding his time, doing research this time in various animals until he felt confident in taking a human again? And then that human got to watch the slugs movie Starla made and it allll came back?]

[Oh, ooo! That works. There was the end credits snippet that shows the cat getting it, so yes, slug guy could totally have been laying low and plotting his revenge. *EVIL LAUGH*]
