Side Effects AU notes
Clarice was an orphan of indeterminate provenance, no paperwork or cards were found with her when she rescued by Victor Creed alongside her adopted sister TJ. The girls were far too young to remember anything prior to the 'bad place' and Victor, Private Investigator that he was...didn't manage to find any concrete trail on them. Given how he found the girls, well, Katzu instinct for child rearing woke up with a vengeance and the two little girls were summarily adopted by one of the only Alnat Katzu to hold dual citizenship in Canada.
Life with Victor Creed was, in a word, AWESOME.
They grew up smart.
They grew up strong.
THEY GREW UP CAMPING WITH CRAZY UNCLES IN CANADA DURING THE SUMMER and maybe poked some moose.
They new that their dad, and their uncle Wade, were ex-military, and probably not the most stable, but Victor was an excellent single dad and Wade made the best Christmas cards (glitter got in Victor's hair for months). They earned GEDs early and took on some college coursework mainly so they could join their dad in his chosen field of investigation. Family businesses were fun after all.
It was a year and some odd change into the work when they got an interesting assignment. A businessman's ward had disappeared from college and he worried she had been taken by a rival. Evidence finally indicated the girl had joined some kind of clinical trial so Clarice got to go play pretend!
