He put his arms around her and held her, a small frown when she couldn't see.

"I don't like bein' called a hero," he confessed quietly, not that she already didn't know. It was a hard title to live up to, and one that created more separation between him and the rest of the people around him than he wanted.

"I appreciate you not startin' fights," he said with a soft chuckle. "Be all sorts of awkward havin' to haul my girlfriend in for disturbin' the peace."

And she was his girlfriend, and that was something he wanted to hold onto for as long as he could. He'd be a happy man if he could tell her 'I told you so' in twenty years. Because it would mean she was still here.
