He was losing her. In a deep, aching part of his heart he knew (he'd always known) that this wasn't her home. She'd never settle down in a place like Wheelsy, she was too restless, too free, with a greater purpose that he'd never be able to help her fulfill here.
He knew it, that didn't mean he was going to give up.
