Wheelsy AU ~ Hollywood Nights
The airport was crowded an d bustling with tourists, the sunlight outside pooling through the plate glass windows like honey. Starla didn't mind the wait. Security meant she could meet him off the plane, but she could stake out the baggage claim where he was suppose to come out!
She was dressed simply in a blue sundress and sandals, nothing fancy, that was for late tonight at the premier. For now she was just a country girl waiting for a country boy and hoping he hadn't managed to get himself lost in the bowels of the airport.

"And of course it's not that fairy tale confection of a wedding everyone grows up with somehow. No, it's quick, legal, and fun, which are all things I think Doc can appreciate. He wouldn't want to do something that reminds him of his first wife after all."
no subject
Bill then bowed his head and nodded, because it was a fairy tale, wasn't it?
"He'd get a kick out of somethin' like that, that's for sure. I guess the only thing for you t'do is find him a beach full of single old ladies."
no subject
"Huh, point. Know any?" Because it was his planet and all! "Do you think he'll suspect our motives?"
no subject
That wasn't something he really needed to know, after all.
"He always suspects somethin', he's a crazy old man. But, if you throw him enough false leads he might not put it together until too late."
no subject
And yes, Doc was a crazy old man, but a smart one.
"Maybe we'll have to be actually sneaky."
no subject
Turning back to his beer again as he poured more whiskey into his empty cup, he shook his head.
"I say best plan is dump him on a beach with some old ladies, an' let him manage the rest."
no subject
Maybe anyway? It wasn't even a crime!
"You plan on drinking all that tonight Bill?"
no subject
"That just sounds dirty."
Stopping his pouring, he looked at the bottle and shrugged.
"I had it in mind to when I bought it, but maybe I'll fall asleep before it's gone."
no subject
Ah. Of course.
"Seems a sucky way to spend a night in Hollywood."
no subject
"I think I'm done talkin' on it." The images it was creating were just not good ones.
Setting the bottle on the table, he smoothed his thumb along the dark glass.
"Yeah, well, my tour guide left me, an' I don't need t'be the dumb redneck who got himself lost in L.A.."
no subject
"Shall I abuse my cop-like powers here and do an internet search for you?"
no subject
He was being tolerant enough of her presence, but he didn't think he wanted to deal with a room full of strangers.
"Besides, I know what you're tryin' t'do, an' sendin' me out to a bar ain't gonna get it done. I'm a social drinker more'n a drown your sorrows guy."
If he did manage to find a good time it might turn out too good.
no subject
She wasn't likely to be feeling charitable though. Starla drove the man to drink, often, and therefore was on Clarice's shit list.
"I'm not the type to sit idle when good men crack."
[ooc: Also? Just imported Mary-Jean. I forgot we had done summat with her and Logan!]
no subject
If he could drown himself tonight, then he'd be able to pull himself back together to get through tomorrow.
[ooc: Oh! I... don't remember who that is, but yay old charries. Shall be on in a bit here if you're abouts]
no subject
[ooc: I'll link you when I get on AIM after foods ^^]

He knew he'd need to slow down until Clarice was gone, so he kept on sipping, and ate another piece of cucumber from the bundle.
no subject
"No, the good news is that I haven;t found cause to take it away yet. Sheesh, you have an iron stomach Bill. How do you not have bleeding ulcers yet?"
no subject
He shrugged, and fiddled with the tab on his beer.
"Problems like that only come when your at it all the time."
no subject
no subject
"Not that many."
no subject
no subject
"You ain't even known me all that long. Couple bad nights you've been around for, that's all."
no subject
no subject
Beat, and some of the defensive aggravation bleeds out of him.
"An' it ain't nothin' to do with you. I've actually liked havin' you around this past while."
no subject
Beat.
"It's cause I look good in a towel right? Damn, should have considered that as a social ice breaking sooner! Think the precinct would mind?"
